KAKIHARA TETSUYA 柿原徹也

Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, Kakihara resided in the country until the age of 18. He grew up fascinated by Japan and its entertainment culture, originally pursuing his Japanese voice acting career in order to become more fluent in the language. He is one of the few well-known voice actors who is trilingual, being fluent in German, Japanese and near-fluent in English.

Now an established voice actor and singer with over 60 roles attributed to his name, Kakihara first debuted onto the voice acting scene in 2003 and proceeded to win Best Male Newcomer at the First Seiyuu Awards ceremony in Japan.

He voices a wide range of characters but is best known for playing roles as young boys/teenagers with a ‘fiery’ personality. Some of his most notable roles include Simon from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail, Shin from Amnesia, Prompto Argentum from Final Fanasty XV, Jinpachi Toudou from Yowamushi Pedal, and Amaimon from Ao no Exorcist.
