We are proud to introduce a panel of experienced and passionate judges for the Animaga Sydney 2026 Cosplay Competition. They are dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and recognizing the incredible hard work put into every single costume.

Meet the Judges

Asumi (@asumi_cos) The Performance & Makeup Expert

With over 10 years of cosplay experience and more than 15 years in the Performing Arts industry, Asumi brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. As a brand owner and makeup expert, she specializes in the fine details of patterning, sewing, and stage presence. She loves watching the worlds of cosplay and performance collide and will be looking for how you bring your character to life.

Jenniwrenn (@jenniwrenncos) The Textile & Sustainability Guru

A trained textiles teacher and advocate for sustainable crafting, Jenniwrenn is a master of construction. Since 2011, she has created over 50 cosplays, mastering complex techniques like millinery, fabric manipulation, and custom printing. She has a soft spot for old-school anime and loves to see creative experimentation with recycled materials.

Liririen (@liririen) The Champion Crafter

As the 2024 Canberra Champion for the Championships of Cosplay, Liririen knows exactly what it takes to win. She is a lifelong crafter with a deep passion for foam work, smart material choices, and clean finishing. She understands the thrill—and the nerves—of the stage and is eager to see your best technical work in action.
