Animaga Privacy PolicY

Guidelines for a Respectful Experience

Animaga is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all attendees, exhibitors, guests, and staff.
All participation in Animaga events is governed by our Code of Conduct and venue regulations to ensure respectful behaviour and the protection of everyone’s wellbeing.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in removal from the event and exclusion from future Animaga activities.

1. Commitment to Privacy

Animaga Entertainment Pty Ltd (“Animaga”, “we”, “our”, “us”) respects and is committed to protecting your personal information and privacy.
We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which govern how personal information must be collected, stored, used, and disclosed in Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how Animaga collects, manages, and safeguards your personal information, including information collected through our website, ticketing systems, social media platforms, and during our events.

By accessing our website, purchasing tickets, or attending an Animaga event, you consent to the collection and handling of your personal information in accordance with this Policy.

2. Definitions

For the purpose of this Policy:

    • Age of Consent means the minimum age under which parental or guardian consent is required for the collection of personal data, being 13 years of age in Australia.
    • Policy means this document, known as the Animaga Privacy Policy, which governs the collection, use, and management of personal information by Animaga.

3. Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales, & State of Victoria Australia, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Any claims, legal proceedings, or disputes arising in connection with this Policy or the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of States, and by using the Site or attending an Animaga event, you irrevocably submit to that jurisdiction.

4. Collection of Personal Information

Animaga collects personal information in several ways, including but not limited to when you:

  • Purchase event tickets or merchandise through our authorised ticketing provider (such as Humanitix)
  • Submit an enquiry or feedback form on our website or via email
  • Register as a volunteer, exhibitor, or participant in competitions, activities, or stage events
  • Subscribe to newsletters or marketing communications
  • Engage with us through official Animaga social media pages
  • Participate in surveys, promotions, or competitions
  • Attend our events where photography, video, or access control systems are in use

Information collected may include your name, address, contact number, email address, age, date of birth, payment details, or information relating to accessibility needs.
Providing personal information is voluntary; however, failure to do so may restrict your ability to access certain services or event activities.

When providing information about another individual (for example, a family member or carer), you confirm that you have their consent to provide their details to Animaga and have made them aware of this Policy.

5. Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

Animaga will use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected or as otherwise permitted by law.
This may include:

  • Processing ticket purchases, registrations, and event access
  • Managing event operations, logistics, and safety
  • Communicating event updates, programming changes, or important announcements

  • Complying with legal obligations, including safety and insurance requirements

Animaga will not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Personal data may be disclosed to service providers engaged by Animaga (such as ticketing agencies, payment processors, marketing agencies, or venue operators) for the purpose of event delivery.
All third parties handling such data are required to adhere to confidentiality and privacy obligations consistent with this Policy and Australian privacy law.

Email addresses provided to Animaga will not be added to mailing lists without your consent.

6. Sensitive Information

Animaga does not generally collect sensitive information.
If sensitive information is collected (for example, health or accessibility details required for safety or accommodation purposes), we will obtain your explicit consent unless collection without consent is authorised or required by law.
All sensitive information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and protection.

7. Children’s Privacy

Animaga takes the protection of children’s privacy seriously.
Individuals under the age of 13 should not provide personal information to Animaga without the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
Where we determine that a user is under 13 years of age, we will seek parental or guardian consent before collecting or retaining personal data.
Without such consent, participation in certain online or on-site activities may not be possible.

Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s information by contacting enquiries@animaga.com.au.

8. Automatic Collection and Cookies

When you visit the Animaga website, certain non-personally identifiable information may be automatically collected through cookies, analytics tools, and server logs.

No personally identifiable information is extracted from this process.

You have the right to request access to, or correction of, your personal information held by Animaga.

Before providing access, Animaga may require verification of identity for security purposes.

When information is no longer required, Animaga will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

The Animaga website and social media pages may contain links to third-party websites and platforms (including but not limited to Humanitix, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X/Twitter).
Animaga is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of these external sites.
We recommend that users review the privacy policies of any third-party sites they visit before providing personal information.

12. Photography, Filming and Media Use

By attending Animaga events, you consent to being filmed, photographed, or recorded by authorised Animaga staff, volunteers, or contractors.
These images or recordings may be used for archival, editorial, or promotional purposes in print or digital formats without further notice or compensation.
If you do not wish to appear in event media, please notify event staff upon arrival.
Requests will be accommodated where reasonably practical, but cannot always be guaranteed in public areas.

13. Data Transfers and Cloud Services

Where Animaga uses cloud-based systems or international service providers (for example, email marketing or CRM platforms), reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that any overseas recipients comply with Australian privacy standards and provide equivalent levels of protection.

14. Updates to This Policy

Animaga may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational changes, legal requirements, or best practice standards.
Any changes will be published on our official website at https://animaga.com.au/privacy-policy.
The updated Policy will take effect immediately upon posting.
By continuing to use the sites, you are deemed to have accepted the revised terms.
