Animaga 2024 Guests Signing policy
Guests will be available for autographs during the weekend in the Guest Autograph & Merchandise Area. Please check the schedule for each guest’s signing times. Due to high demand and limited time available, we’ve established the following policies to ensure as many attendees as possible have the opportunity to obtain an autograph.
Obtaining an Autograph Token
To obtain an autograph from a guest, you must have BOTH:
- A physical VIP (Lanyard) OR General Admission pass (wristband), AND
- An Autograph token for the guest.
Autograph tokens can be collected at the Guest Autograph Area each day upon doors opening, after presenting your physical VIP or General Admission pass. Physical admission passes are redeemed when your e-ticket is scanned upon entry. Arrive early to secure your opportunity. VIP Lanyards can be collected at the Info & Ticket booth anytime on event days. The Guest Autograph Area will distribute a limited number of Autograph Tokens (100 per day, per guest) after confirming an attendee’s physical entry pass. Tokens are valid only for the signing session on the day they are distributed (Saturday or Sunday).
General Signing Policy – Applies to all guests unless otherwise stated:
- Each attendee may obtain ONE Autograph Token per guest.
- No attendee may stand in line for an autograph without a token.
- Standby lines will also require a token.
- Attendees are not allowed to line up for an autograph session more than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- To keep the line moving, only ONE item will be signed.
- DO NOT bring any bootleg items (they will not be signed). If you are uncertain about an item, check first! (Guests may be offended if presented with bootleg items.) Animaga staff may veto any item as unsuitable for signing, and such decisions are final.
- Animaga staff reserve the right to inspect any item before it is presented to the guest.
- You will be asked to show your signing tokens and admission ticket to staff when queuing in the Autograph Area. DO NOT LOSE YOUR TICKET WHILE WAITING FOR AN AUTOGRAPH!
- All merchandise for signing must be officially licensed, credited, and intended for personal use only, not for resale purpose. Animaga staff have the right to decline autographs and tokens to attendees who do not follow these rules.
- All attendees must also follow the Animaga Code of Conduct. Animaga staff reserve the right to refuse autographs and/or tokens to any attendee who fails to follow the rules (or attempts to circumvent them). Anyone caught in the act is subject to the disruptive behavior policy and risks having their signing token revoked and/or access to the convention removed.
- Guests will not have time for lengthy conversations during the autograph session. Be mindful of other attendees waiting in the queue. (Assume that whatever you have to say must be said in 30 seconds or less, while the guest is signing your item. It’s a good idea to write down what you want to say.)
- All autographs will be signed with stationery and signing markers provided by Animaga.
Yoko Hikasa 日笠陽子 signing Policy
- Strictly NO photography: Photography during the signing session is strictly prohibited to ensure privacy and respect for all participants.
- Permitted Signing Items: Yoko Hikasa will sign ONLY on signing boards, such as blank signing boards or official signing boards featuring her characters. Blank Signing Boards (Japanese Shikishi Boards) are available for purchase at the Animaga Guest Merch Desk located in the Guest Autograph Area. These boards are intended solely for personal commemoration of the event.
- Item Preparation: Please prepare your signing board and have it readily accessible as you approach the Guest Signing Area to ensure a swift and orderly process.
Marina Inoue 井上麻里奈 signing Policy
- Strictly NO photography: Photography during the signing session is strictly prohibited to ensure privacy and respect for all participants.
- Permitted Items for Signing by Marina Inoue:
- Blank Signing Boards (Japanese Shikishi Boards) are available for purchase at the Animaga Guest Merch Desk. These are intended for personal commemoration only.
- Officially Licensed Products Marina Inoue will ONLY sign:
- CD/DVD/Game Covers: Please remove the cover insert beforehand to speed up the process.
- Wall Scrolls and Posters
- PVC Files Folders / Clear files
- Official signing boards featuring her characters
- Mouse Pads
- Artbook, Manga, and Light Novel Covers
These items must be officially licensed, credited, and intended for personal use only, not for resale.
- Items Not Allowed: Marina Inoue will not sign anime figures, figure boxes, or any items perceived as intended for resale.
- No Personal Items: Items such as cosplay props, figures, t-shirts, and scraps of paper will not be signed to maintain the integrity of the session.
- Preparation: Ensure the item for signing is ready and accessible as you approach the signing area to facilitate a smooth process.
Tsunako つなこ signing Policy
- Strictly NO photography: Photography during the signing session is strictly prohibited to ensure privacy and respect for all participants.
- Permitted Items for Signing by Tsunako:
- CD/DVD/Game Covers: Remove the cover insert prior to the session to expedite the process.
- Wall Scrolls and Posters
- PVC Files Folders / Clear files
- Official signing boards with her characters
- Mouse Pads
- Artbook and Light Novel Covers
These items must be officially licensed, credited, and intended for personal use only, not for resale.
- Items Not Allowed: Tsunako will not sign anime figures, figure boxes, or any merchandise perceived as intended for resale.
- No Personal Items: Personal items like cosplay props, figures, t-shirts, and scraps of paper will not be signed.
- Preparation: Have your item ready when you are within sight of the guest to ensure a smooth signing process.
KNITE & Shookoboo & Shunsuke signing Policy
- Official Merchandise: Cosplayer guests will sign only their official merchandise, which is available for purchase at their tables located in the Cosplay Area, while stocks last.
- Autograph Tokens: Collect cosplayers’ Autograph tokens either from the Guest Autograph Area or directly in the Cosplay Area if making a purchase on the day.
Notes and Gifts for Guests
If you’ve brought a personal note or small gift for the guest, please adhere to the following guidelines for practical and safety reasons. While most guests appreciate these gestures, there are limitations on what can be accepted:
- Identification: Please include the name of the guest as well as your own name and contact information, either written on the outside of the message or clearly attached to the outside of the gift.
- Gift Wrapping: Do not use tape or ribbons to wrap your gift. A gift bag or simple tissue paper cover is acceptable, as we need to be able to screen all gifts easily.
- Size and Nature of Gifts: Avoid large, bulky, or easily damaged items. Most guests travel a significant distance to appear at Animaga and have limited luggage space. Ensure any gifts you bring are small, durable, and easy to pack.
- Prohibited Items: No food items will be accepted. Additionally, items containing human DNA, such as blood, skin, or hair, are strictly prohibited.
- Presenting Gifts: If you have a gift for a guest, please first bring it to the Animaga staff member in charge of the appearance.
- During Panels: Do not use Q&A time during a guest’s panel to present your gift; this disrupts the session and is unfair to others attending.
- During Autographs: Do not present your gift during autograph time without prior approval from the staff member in charge, as it may interfere with the experience of other attendees.
- Handling of Gifts: You may be asked to wait until the end of the session, or staff may take the gift to present to the guest on your behalf. Please rest assured that your gift will be delivered to the guest—this is why we require your contact information on every gift.
