The New and Improved Animaga Cosplay Competitions Are Here!

You asked, and we listened! We know how much time and effort goes into your outfits and routines, which is exactly why we are completely revamping our stage events for Animaga Melbourne 2026. We are expanding our lineup to make sure everyone has a chance to shine on stage.

Skits and Performances (Saturday, August 29th)
Have you ever thought about putting together a fun skit with your friends? Or maybe you have been practicing that catchy dance routine from Uma Musume and want to finally show it off to an audience? After receiving so many requests, we now have a dedicated competition strictly for your amazing performances. This is your chance to bring your favorite series to life on stage through acting and dance.

Rising Star Cosplay Competition (Saturday, August 29th)
For everyone who is just starting their competitive journey, or if you simply have a fun passion project you want to share, this one is for you. The Rising Star event is a smaller, much more beginner-friendly version of our main competition. It is a fantastic way to show off your skills, build your confidence, and get used to being under the stage lights without the pressure of the main event.

Animaga’s Cosplay Competition (Sunday, August 30th)
Our new and improved main cosplay competition is back. Built for our intermediate and advanced competitive cosplayers, this is your time to take the stage and show off those complex, highly detailed, and amazing builds you have been working on all year. We are looking forward to seeing the high-level craftsmanship on display.
