Manga Artist Shotaro Tokuno is Joining Animaga Melbourne 2026

Our guest lineup for Animaga Melbourne 2026 is continuing to grow, and we have a very special announcement for manga fans. The mastermind behind the Eagle Jump game development team is officially coming to Australia! We are very happy to welcome manga artist Shotaro Tokuno (得能正太郎) to the MCEC this August 29 and 30.

If you are a fan of the massive hit manga and anime NEW GAME!, you will instantly recognize his wonderful work. Tokuno-sensei is the talent who brought the colorful and hardworking staff at Eagle Jump to life, giving us the beloved company rookie, Aoba Suzukaze. His distinct art style and storytelling capture the fun, challenges, and heart of working in the game development industry perfectly.

Alongside his iconic work on NEW GAME!, he is also the creative force behind the highly enjoyable IDOL×IDOL STORY!, which is currently serializing and winning over fans.

Having an established manga artist join us is a huge highlight for the convention. This is a very rare chance for fans in Australia to meet the talent behind these heartwarming stories in person.
