Guests Signing policy
Guests will be available for autographs during the weekend in the Guest Autograph & Merchandise Area (Guest Area). Check the schedule for signing times for each guest. Due to high demand and limited time available for each signing session, the following policies will apply to ensure as many people have an opportunity to obtain an autograph as possible.
Obtaining an Autograph Token
If you wish to obtain an Autograph for a guest, you must have BOTH
- a physical VIP (Lanyard) OR General Admission pass (wristband) AND
- an Autograph token for the guest
- Trader pass holders will receive a raffle form for a chance to win 1 in 10 tokens per guest, per day. Winners can collect their tokens from the Info & Ticket Booth when picking up their trader pass. Trader pass holders are not eligible to queue for autograph tokens with general attendees.
- Other pass holders (media pass, performer pass, creator pass) are not eligible to receive guest tokens.
At doors open each day, attendees can collect an autograph token at the Guest Autograph Token Collection Area by presenting their physical VIP or General Admission pass. The Guest Autograph Token Collection Area will distribute the limited number of the Autograph Tokens (60 per day for Kotteri!, 100 per day, per other guest,) after confirming an attendee’s physical entry pass. Autograph Tokens are valid only for the signing session on the day it was distributed (Saturday or Sunday).
Physical passes are issued when your e-ticket is scanned at entry, in the order of the queue. We recommend arriving early to improve your chances of receiving a token. VIP lanyards can be collected at the Info & Ticket Booth anytime during event days.
The Guest Autograph Token Collection Area will be located above the Starlight Stage in the Main Hall and will be open from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on both Saturday and Sunday (or until tokens run out). After 11:00 am, you may check autograph token availability directly at the Guest Signing & Merch Room (Room 3.7), located on Level 3.
General Signing Policy – Applies to all guests unless otherwise stated
- One attendee only can get ONE Autograph Token, for each guest
- No attendee may stand in line for an autograph without a token
- Attendees are not allowed to line up for an autograph session more than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- To keep the line moving, only ONE item will be signed.
- DO NOT bring any bootleg items (they will not be signed). If you are uncertain about a particular item, check first! (Guests may be offended if they’re presented with bootleg items.) Animaga staff may veto any item as unsuitable for signing, and such decisions are final.
- Animaga staff reserve the right to inspect any item before it is presented to the guest
- You will be asked to show your signing tokens and admission ticket to staff when queuing in the Autograph Area. DO NOT LOSE YOUR TICKET WHILE WAITING FOR AN AUTOGRAPH!
- All attendees also have to follow the Animaga Code of Conduct. Animaga staff reserve the right to refuse autographs and/or tokens to any attendee who fails to follow the rules (or attempts to circumvent them). Anyone caught in the act is subject to the disruptive behaviour policy, and risks having their signing token revoked and/or access to the convention removed.
- Guests will not have time for lengthy conversation during the autograph session. Be mindful of other attendees waiting in the queue. (Assume that whatever you have to say must be said in 30 seconds or less, while the guest is signing your item. It’s a good idea to write down what you want to say.)
- All autographs will be signed with stationery and signing markers provided by Animaga.

If you’ve brought something special for the guest such as a personal note or small gift, we ask that you follow certain guidelines for practical and safety reasons. Most guests appreciate these small gestures, but many gifts cannot be accepted.
- Please ensure that you provide the name of the guest, as well as your own name and contact information, either written on the outside of the message or attached clearly to the outside of the gift.
- Please do not wrap your gift using tape or tie it using ribbon; however, a gift bag or simple tissue paper cover is acceptable. (We must be able to screen all gifts.)
- Avoid anything large, bulky or easily damaged. Most guests fly quite a distance to appear at Animaga, and may have limited space in their luggage. Any gifts you bring should be small, durable, and easily packed.
- No food items will be accepted.
- No items that intentionally contain HUMAN DNA will be accepted. (Blood, skin, or hair…)
- If you have an item to present as a gift at any guest appearance, please bring it first to the Animaga staff member in charge of the appearance.
- DO NOT use Q&A time during a guest’s panel to present your gift to the guest; this is extremely rude and unfair to the other people who came to hear the guest speak.
- DO NOT use autograph time to present your gift without first clearing it with the staff member in charge, as this may deny others the opportunity to meet the guest.
- You may be asked to wait until the end of the session, or staff may accept the gift in order to present it to the guest on your behalf. (Rest assured, your gift will be given to the guest on your behalf – that’s why we request your contact information on every gift.)
